Western bean cutworm (WBC) moth numbers are continuing to increase in traps across the western half of the province over the last week. Any late planted or late tasseling fields in your area should be scouted for egg masses (see attached pdf fact sheet).
It is worth checking for WBC eggs in any fields you are walking (late fields or not) so you don’t get a nasty surprise this fall.
